Excerpts from the chat session with Priya Tendulkar (PT)

Priya Tendulkar PT : Hi everybody, I am here.

Ju_vinyl: Hi Priya!
Quizzer: Welcome to Rajani.
Ju_Vinlyl: How did Rajani happen?
PT : I happened to meet Basu Chatterjee at a party. He had already tried out the more famous ones like Shabana Azmi for the role but no one wanted to play the mother of a six year-old kid! So he had to settle for me!

Anjali: Did Rajani affect your personality?
PT :It was the other way around. Just two days before I met Basu Chatterjee, I had a big fight with the MTNL director!

Quizzer: Bal Thackeray is being given security by the government and he is simply wasting the taxpayer's money. Did you ask him the question in your show?
PT :I did ask him. The channel chopped the question later. He said that "If the government is willing to give security, why should I say no?"

Nadeem: Why did you change your dress code?
PT :I love wearing saris but producers of the channel wanted me to change to pants. Maybe they wanted me to look like a man.

Baby Guddu: Are you related Sachin Tendulkar?
PT : Yes, I am. He is my second cousin. His father and mine are first cousins.

Rajani: Are you closer to your mother or father?
PT : I am closer to my father. I am a bit scared of my mother. She is such a perfect woman.

Karan: How does it feel to be your father's daughter?
PT : It is nice, but being my father's daughter is also scary because people have too many expectations from you.

Ju_Vinyl: Suppose if you have kids, would you like them to live in the same circumstances?
PT : People do not become famous to give their children a hard time. It's just one of the by-products of fame.

Anju: Whats your Zodaic sign?
PT : Libra. My birthday is on October 19.

Anju: What do you think of feminism? I like the quote of yours that Indian men are awfully brought up.
PT : I think it's the Indian men who have to be emancipated. Indian women are already quite liberated.

Rajani: What do you think of marriage?
PT : Marriage is man-made, so it is synthetic; relationships are natural hence long-lasting.

Rajani: Synthetic? What do you mean by synthetic? Is this the kind of language you normally use or is it a deliberate put on?
PT : I mean fake, baby.

Me: Why are you using such heavy language… Can you speak plainly?
PT : It's a manufacturing defect!

Quizzer: Will you contest the Lok Sabha.
