Chatpata : Did you always want to become an architect and has so much of fame affected you?
HC : I always wanted to be the best architect. Success is a very relative and temporary term. I still feel that I have a long way to go.
Papu02 : Is this Hafeez Contractor, the architect?
HC : Yes, Papu02, I am Hafeez Contractor.
Prachib : Sir, good evening, what was the first project that you handled and how did you feel upon its completion?
HC : The first project that I handled was the interior of a 500sq.ft. flat - the person wanted 2 bedrooms and a hall. In the day time, one bedroom became a hall, like the gadgets which are like two in one. The first project is like kissing the girl for the first time, there is a different `jhatka'.
Prachib : When you design buildings, what do you look at- the money or do you follow your creative instinct?
HC : Prachib, some buildings and projects are done for creativity, some for architecture, some for name and fame, and definitely some for money.
Prachib : What does it take to be a good architect?
HC : Lot of dedication and hard work.
Mister Money : Why do you use such bold colors? Is it only to shock?
HC : Mister Money, I don't usually use bold colours. Only rarely, when I have to shout and make myself known, I shout by using bold colours.
